Hannam University established a start-up cluster, start-up zones, and start-up dormitories, and completed a new Maker Space last year. It received good support and achieved a great level of interest among students. However, freshmen often don't know much about it because the coronavirus restrictions gave them have fewer opportunities to engage in activities. Let's find out how the start-up zone and Design Factory organize themselves.

To examine the Design Factory in more detail, I interviewed Park Hyo-kyun, the team leader, and the collaborators. The start-up cluster is a space for start-ups, consisting of buildings A, B, and C. A-dong is where Idea meetings are held. B-dong created a club where mentoring ideas can lead to start-ups. C-dong is a business registration certificate and starts preparing for business using prototypes. After completing preparations for starting a business going through A-dong, B-dong, and C-dong, the company starts to operate the business as a representative of one store. Start-up zones, Design Factory, and Maker Space are all different entities; they are not included in clusters. Maker Space offers a combination of design factory education, 4th industrial revolution education, and XR business group. Also, the school is used as a space for discussions and exhibitions. Maker Space's XR (AR+VR) Experience Zone is a space VR equipment called a simulator. For example, students can tour the campus and drive cars and airplanes. Head of Design Factory Park said: "currently the department or club are equipped with virtual reality and augmented reality production and testing, so we are developing into a space you can experience, "we are also creating a major fair experience for outside activities."

Unlike the Start-up Zone, a space specializing in start-ups, Design Factory is engaged in creative activities as an educational innovation platform. In Helsinki, Finland, Alto University was the first to run educational programs, seven courses and tracks. Last year, we held 20 programs, but it has slowed down due to the coronavirus. One of the most important programs is the multi-disciplinary one, related to design thinking where students collaborate across various majors. A multidisciplinary system is necessary because it cannot be a major. Therefore, university education to provide more practical education based on a multidisciplinary system is recommended. Also, the Design Factory provides convergence capstones infrastructure classes and provides space equipment. Underground is a space for prototyping idea development, and "learning by doing" activity means you can make and touch right now. There are many prototypes, but it has 3D printers prototype checked to ensure they actually work. In addition, the Design Factory led by the University of Alto in Finland, continued to develop and share the educational philosophy pursued by a global network (dfgn) of 24 countries. In 2019, Hannam Global Factory joined right after Hanyang University. The pdp product valent is a class run by Alto University, and three Hannam University students have participated during the nine-month period.

As a result of innovative education, the company applied for 24 patents in four semesters from 2019 to 2020. It is the largest company of medium-sized businesses and start-ups at the start-up competition to advance to the final. Four Hannam University teams were selected in 2014, and 13 teams were selected last year. Korea Water Industry Innovation Startup Contest won the grand prize and was selected as an early start-up package and is in progress. In addition, it won the Small and Medium Minister Business Award and won the grand prize in the Startup Club League. Head of Design Factory Park said: "If you want to start a business, it will be helpful to come to the start-up department to discuss whether you can continue to participate in LINC business groups or design factories." Currently, among the programs underway, the initial start-up package involves dividing preparation, initiation, and leap to the three stages forward at the start-up promotion association for the entire nation. Previously, no business project had involved students, initiation has been carried out for less than one to three years at the beginning, and entrepreneurs participate in the leap forward. If a start-up package is selected by Hannam University, it will be provided marketing, labor, and patent costs ranging from 7000,0000 won to 1,000,0000 won, and other support start-up club operating expenses and prototyping. If they participate, it will receive various benefits opportunity to apply for patents and participation in start-up competitions. It is a great opportunity for interested students.
