Some internet users who saw the content protested, said, "It's a mockery of soldiers." Since then, petitions have been posted on the bulletin board of Cheong Wa Dae, the national petition, and the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education to "stop forcing minors to write consolatory letter." The petition caused a big stir, with more than 200,000 people agreeing. Cheong Wa Dae answered to the petition by saying, "We will actively reflect changes in perception." Cheong Wa Dae said, "We have reaffirmed the fact ,which should check the practice of operating the system without reflecting changes." adding, "The government and education authorities will actively reflect social changes and changes in perception in school education activities.“

People Power Party (PPP) candidate Yoon Seok-yeol has been elected in 2022 Korean Presidential Election. The winner of Korean Presidential Election was determined by the narrowest margin of 246,077 votes. Yoon was ahead of 0.73 percentage points by having 48.56 percent of votes the Minjoo candidate Lee Jae-myung who had 47.83 percent. The first organization for a new president-elect elected by voters is the Presidential Transition Committee. Considering that President Moon Jae In was elected in by-election and the impeachment of former President Park Geun Hye five years ago, the transition committee will be revived in 10 years through this presidential election. The transition committee is a temporary organization based on the "Act on the Acquisition of the Presidency", and the elected person may appoint one chairperson, one vice-chairperson, and not more than 24 members under the Presidential Transition Act. The 20th Presidential Transition Committee has completed the formation of a total of 184 transition committees, including 24 transition members, 76 professional members and 73 working-level members.
