You could see some black containers and someone who move quickly in there in this semester, when you pass by Hannam University campus. That place is ‘Hannam Market Zone’ which was completed in October. About 20 store and office moved to that place located  nearby Linton park. This means Hannam University gives opportunities to challenge to students who wants to be a success CEO. These days, there are so many students who are ready to start a company. So we are trying to discover about the current condition of start up companies and what can student get help from Hannam University in starting a business through interview with Hannam Market Zone’s CEOs. We interviewed CEO of ‘Coconut Brothers’ and ‘Ebul:Me’. (A: Coconut Brothers B: Ebul:Me)

Interview with’ coconut brothers’

 I’m Lee Jinhui and I graduated the Department of Business Administration major. I started prop shop named ‘ANDGO’ at Pyeongtaek in 2015. And I started ‘Coconut Brothers’ in last year. The main store is in Pyeongtaek and now  moved into Hannam Market Zone as a cooperate store. Originally, I like cute things more than character merchandise. But character merchandise was more popular, so I did this business. I had gone study abroad to china when I was 26, and I got sick and returned to Korea. But there was nothing I can do. Because of this I started a little store. It did not took much time to prepare it. As I mentioned before because my health was not good. I always stayed at home but it was though. There was many ups and downs but now I am trying to be stable. Recently, I associated with others to help my shop grow. It was not hard financially because I started small. I sold products in a shabby building. I did not think about earning much money in that period. But in that period, it was too hard, there were so many things that I did not  know. Then when I watched here students who are Hannam Market Zone’s CEO, there were many good programs from Hannam University. There were many supports about the start business and professors or school trying to help them. There was nothing when I was Hannam university’s students. When I first started doing business, I did not know anything such as tax law because I started without any support. I'm envy Hannam Market Zone’s students because they can prepare here that get all systems. Promotion effect is very big when working in Hannam Market Zone.. And monthly rent is very cheap. There is a disadvantage that students decrease in vacation but I have moved in here as cooperate company, so this is a opportunity to get great promote in less cost. Thanks to this opportunity,  I moved into a pop-up store in department store which is  located in west of Daejeon. They contacted me first, and said they watched this store in Hannam Market Zone. I think this Brand’s own image is not fully built yet because I started this in September 2018. So I want to make a brand image. I also want to tell to the students who are thinking about starting a business to not worry too much. You can’t do anything if you just worry. Learn from experience yourself It’s so difficult.

Interview with ‘Ebul : me’

Hello, I’m Kim Sungmin of Global IT Business major. But now I am working as the CEO of ‘Ebul:Me’ in Hannam Market Zone.  I had a lot of interest about starting a business when I was a high school student. But there was no one around me to give me some advice, so I had a lot of trouble. After entering Hannam University, I discovered there were some program about starting a business. Thanks to this, I could start my own business m so  I volunteered for the program. First, I wrote my  business plan. Business plan is very important because you can know what your idea was and what you should do when you are in trouble After preparing the business plan, I volunteered to start business club which can get financial support and an opportunity to be in Hannam Market Zone. And after being selected, I prepared one by one based on my business plan. But I had some troubles on the way to prepare for my business. When I contacted  the external company because of specific thing such as label, they disrespected me because I was too  young. I think this things could happen to other students who start business. Also I got a lot of help from Hannam university especially the financial support. It was so helpful because I did not have a lot of money like that. And through mentor system, I could get advice from tax professional, shopping mall CEO and marketing CEO. I am still in contact with them. They are very helpful because they are senior. There are so many hard situation but I like having early experiences about start up business. There is an advantage that I can get support from university so that I think choosing to start my business early was a great choice. I want to grow up this business. Like when someone think about a blanket then ‘Ebul:Me’ will occur to their mind. And I want to extend this business. To use ‘:Me’ like ‘Cafe:Me’. I also want to tell to the students who are thinking about starting a business to do it right away. Don’t think ‘Aw, this would be possible?’ Anything to start is important.

Hannam Market Zone provide new paradigm about supporting start up  business. It is not only supporting education and budget but also support infrastructure build and opportunity to challenge yourself. Both CEO said ‘Do not be concerned, just do it.’ If you are concerned and afraid about starting a business, how about do it right now?
